SCALP - Domestic Extremity (2020)

•  †  •

Beatdown hardcore with it's hands dipping into the pots of influence in the way of metal, thrash, punk, death metal, power violence and the whole gamut of auditory assault. It's neanderthal in its DNA and over-indulgent from my perspective but it's executed well and does what it sets out to do very well. Imagine a mash between Mind Eraser, Foundation, Hoax, Primitive Blast and Harms Way. Preservation of sonic barbarity.

Portrayal of Guilt - Let Pain Be Your Guide (2018)

•  †  •

This one has my attention for some reason, which I find mild interesting because it feels like something ripped out of my past, a bygone era of halcyon days and unsure moments in time… And it has all the markings of something I don't find myself indulging in much these days, sonically speaking. I know very little about Portrayal of Guilt, but I like Gilead Media (mostly) so I'm hoping this plays out similarly to Full of Hell's Trumpeting Ecstasy.

Iron Lung - White Glove Test (2013)

I've only fully listened through this album twice, so maybe my opinion is as useless as condoms to a priest but fuck it man, I just wanted to get this on here. Mainly because I think White Glove Test is an interesting release, which is a hearty accolade for a two-piece power violence/grind act, isn't it?

Maybe I pulled the wool over your eyes when I used the word "interesting", what I really meant was this album will beat you down for the better half of 23 minutes, pick you up, and then beat you back down again with a 23 minute bonus track… Containing an amalgamation of odd sounds, the kind of sounds that would give you night terrors if you suddenly woke up to it playing loudly in your dark, monsters under the bed filled room. Grow up.

Noisy, fast, unpredictable, dizzying and raucous. Oh, and I think maybe something to do with an industrial tinge. Probably not at all.

Download? (Zippyshare) ((Somebody let me know if this version has the bonus tracks, I think it does))

War Wolf - Riding With Demons (2013)

Just enough piss in your morning coffee, throw this shit on, fuck up your day. 13 minutes of feral and slimy hardcore. Shit in your cereal.

Ultra//Negative - Finally I'm At Peace (2011)

Okay, so here we have your standard album cover...you know the type, black & white with a brutalized baby face that looks like it was born with a pipe bomb in it's skull. It's a rare condition...that happens to no one.

You may already have got the idea that this band just spews negativity and thrives on entropy. Oh, and their name is Ultra//Negative. Fast and furious jams that span for an entirety of 8.5 minutes of pissed off hardcore, sludgened power violence (©).

Do not fucking watch this if you are not at least a little bit desensitized and or depraved. It's basically a one minute snuff flick. I only post this because I got a laugh out of the bands Facebook status "ULTRA//NEGATIVE MUSIC VIDEO. Watch before it's banned by youtube"
(I watched it, pussy)

God Harvest - Demo (2011)

Kudos to the internet gnat and buddy of mine DoctorNutcheez for recommending I take a listen to this. So I did just that, and he was right, It's pretty fucking awesome. In the realms of Nails & Trap Them, which have been posted on here already. Down-tuned crushing force.
